Fresh off a trip of a lifetime to Indo, Nic Von Rupp has been on a bit of a tear. In this clip, we see our boy back in familiar climes: encased in rubber and pulling into cold water slabs, etc.
This little nugget, called Tens, or something like that, is a wave that would seem to offer little mercy to the uninitiated. Nic has been here before and he and the boys cautiously slide into a few ski-assisted thickies.
Nic adds.
“I had dreamt about this moment, as I had surfed it 10 years ago and all I wanted was to surf it again. It’s such a dangerous wave, such a heavy wave on how it breaks, on how the reef sticks out. If you fall and get hurt you are in the middle of nowhere, far from civilization so no one will get you. As bad as you want to get the waves of your life, you always have the danger of the place in the back of your mind.”
Didn’t seem to slow you down pal.
