Most of us have seen the footage from the massive day during the Nazare Challenge. And yes, we’ve seen the intense mishap that injured Hugo Lau and almost took the life of teammate Alex Botelho. That was hard to watch on video, we can’t imagine what it must have been like in person.

Nic Von Rupp was present as a competitor that fateful day and decided to put out this video to better chronicle what led up to that moment, as well as give some idea of the tension, fear, and despair that was going down as it all unfolded in real-time.

That was fucking heavy.

Hopefully, the rest of Nic’s series will be a little more, shall we say, manageable.
