The Coffey family is core surfing personified. The family patriarch, Ward, has been shaping boards for years in the Santa Cruz region. His two boys Ben and Sam, grew up riding dad’s boards (how cool is that?) with each developing into exceptional individual talents. Ben mastering a power rail game while Sam’s approach being a little more progressive. It’s so cool that surfing still kicks out stories like these that remind us of how special our little world is when we cast our gaze away from some of the other, um, stuff.
