Watch: O’Neill “ORIGINALS” Billy Bain

If you’re old enough, or perhaps a bit of a surf history buff, the Bain name is one you might be familiar with. Ya see pops, Rob, was quite the surfer himself, ultimately reaching a year-end ranking of #5 on the ASP world tour a few years back. He also almost died during a mid-night tsunami wash-through during a trip to G-Land. Heavy shit.

Well, his son, Billy, took up the surfing torch for the Bain family and proceeded to light up the junior ranks for years before deciding on a different path. Enrolling in the University of New South Wales as an art student, Bill dove right in, eventually graduating with honors. Pretty cool.

In O’Neill’s latest installment of the ORiginal’s series, you can see Bill still surfs at a very high level while balancing his art with quick hit and runs at his favorite local spots around Avalon. His art is very unique and heavily influenced by indigenous Australian culture. Check it out below.
