Someone from the Ho family has been dominating All Moana for over 50 years.

It started with Michael, beginning way back in the 70s and into the 80s, then Derek (RIP uncle D) through most of the 90s and into the new millennium, and, of course, now Mason has taken the torch and is holding down the family lineage.

But don’t think Michael is anywhere near done. He’s included in this clip still ripping with that classic Hawaiian style he is so famous for.

Mason, however, just seems made for “Bowls,” as it’s known locally.

A bit of a freak wave with just enough kink to keep Mason occupied, and it ain’t no coincidence that he and Pops are scoring set waves at will. Which is one of the many cool things about Hawaii: the boys show respect when it’s required. No questions, no jabber, ya get in line and one day you might have a little slice if you keep your head down and your mouth shut.

As it should be.
