Sugarloaf Diaries Collected Thoughts 006

Kai Neville editing Dear Suburbia What Youth

Poetry is dead. The web clip killed surfing. What’s a blowtail? The barrel is back. Big-budget soundtracks. Bill fucking Murray. It’s a spiced rum. The mountains are purple and the red wine is uncorked.

Kai’s nearly finished the rough edit of Dear Suburbia, which we’ll preview here at the studio in a matter of days. He’s been locked away in a remote cabin just outside the city of Sugarloaf, CA cutting film day and night.

For those who can’t make it to HB for the August premiere, know that we’re hitting the road the day after for a proper American tour, in a van, with a band, with the surfers, and probably skateboards too because we’re driving across the USA dammit. Stay tuned. It’s going to be a long, hot summer filled with poetry, cinema and revolutions. Get back in the barrel!

Dane Reynolds on Public Transportation Collected Thoughts 003

John John Florence in Barbados

John John in Barbados Collected Thoughts 001

This is John John Florence by the ghost of an Olympic pool at an abandoned resort in the parish of St. Lucy near the northern tip of Barbados, and what a useless cavity in the ground has he got here. The walls are too vertical to skate, there’s no water to ease the heat, there’s…
