Listen to Monster Youth New music from Sint-Niklaas, Belgium

There is, as you’ve probably noticed, a plethora of indie sounding psych garage punk rock infiltrating our ears. And, for the most part, they all seem to blend into each other. Not that that’s necessarily a bad thing. Sometimes more of the same is all we need. But then sometimes a band from Sint-Niklaas, Belgium catches your attention and despite the familiar vibe they’re putting out, you can’t help but marathon that shit for days on end.

Monster Youth, the four-piece Belgian band currently dominating my headphones, emerged in late 2015 with their debut album Lost Dream, Cool Fire, off Fons Records. With subtle self-proclaimed influence from “Mac Demarco and Juan Wauters to Spacemen 3 and Jesus and Mary Chain”, Monster Youth fits right in with our style. Plus, we can’t help but like a band that has “Youth” in the title. So listen up. –Maya Eslami
