C.G. Roxanne and the Nightmares, my favorite local punk freaks who named themselves after the label on a bottle of Crystal Geyser, are premiering a song today, exclusively on WY, for their new single “Normandie Blvd” of the EP Half Way to Hollywood. Check it out.
Lead singer Marlon Rabenreither’s reverbed vocals drench over the steady rhythm of Carlos Laszlo’s drums and Sam Thornton’s bass, lending the track some 80s rock reference in my brain, almost like a song that’d play over a montage of dudes riding their Triumphs out to the lake to shotgun some beers. With backing vocals from James Hurst of Beach Party and guitar by Bradford Walters of the Pesos, “Normandie Blvd.” is the perfect track for what’s sure to be a long ass glorious summer. –Maya Eslami
