WY Premiere: Shark Toys Listen to their new single “Maze”

Shark Toys, maybe the most underrated band oozing out of Los Angeles these days, just signed with In The Red Records and dropped their third official LP Labyrinths, a killer package of fourteen fast-paced rippers that sound like “early No Age meets Tyvek on uppers.” Formed in 2008 by Daniel Clodfelter as a guitar and keyboard bedroom experience with his then-girlfriend now-wife Rina, Shark Toys has gone through a couple different members and varying degrees of identity before settling on its phoenixed present self. Today, the punk scramble consists of Daniel on guitar and vocals, Emanuel Farias on drums, and Bill Gray (formerly of The Mae Shi) on bass and backing vocals. Listen to their lead single from the album, “Maze,” a jolt of pure adrenaline to the dome that’s barely two minutes long but packs a memorable, infectious punch. I’ve been punching myself with it all morning. So do yourself a favor, press play. Get to punching. –Maya Eslami
