Atlanta-based three-piece MammaBear have something to say about the current state of society, and you better open your ears and listen. On their new single “My House,” off their upcoming album SAY, frontman Kyle Gordon takes aim at the self-absorbed quality embedded in social media, and media in general, with a pulsing, high-energy, rampage of a song that’ll get your blood pumping.
“The song is mocking the trend of society and media’s close attention to the self. It’s about the lack of true substance in the world right now. But, it’s also about me making fun of myself, saying that ‘I’m no better’ for falling into this trap of making it all about me, my pleasures, my life.”
Watch their video for “My House,” directed by Kyle Gordon, and filmed and edited by Nick Rhodes of Coalesce Films in Atlanta. It’s trippy, discombobulating, and soothing all at the same time, and perfect for your Friday jam.
