Every once in a while, a song comes along that really knocks us off our tracks. Or whatever that saying is. And the new single, “Attention,” by Terri Terri – the new solo project of musician Mark Noseworthy – is doing just that. We’re knocked. Count Noseworthy’s background as the guitarist for Albert Hammond Jr.’s solo gig for his ability to whip out a garage-y, wave-hopping rhythm, complete with hushed, sultry, soaked-in-whiskey vocals and an electrifying, jangly outro that really puts the cherry on top of this killer jam. “’Attention’ is the first song I recorded for the record,” Mark says. “I kept it raw on an 8-track tape machine. I really like keeping the creative process limited and to the point.”
Terri Terri’s self-titled debut drops next year on his own label Temper Records – date tbd – but I’ve already listened to the whole thing, and I’m hooked. Knocked and hooked. So press play on this casual explosion of good sound, and cruise your way into the weekend. –Maya Eslami
