WY Premiere: Monograms Listen to their new single “Sleep Cycle”

what youth recommends monograms sleep cycle

Brooklyn-based slayers Monograms, originally the solo project of frontman Ian Jacobs, started out as bedroom jams before fully fleshing out to a four-piece psych fuzz explosion of sound. And I mean explosion, with jolting guitar licks and heavy drums swirling into a lightning bolt of fire. Check out their new single “Sleep Cycle,” due out digitally on their Bandcamp page December 1st and as a limited edition cassette, along with other surprises. “Since I started the band on a laptop in a bedroom a few years ago,” says Jacobs, “‘Sleep Cycle’ is the first song that Mike (guitar) and I have written together, so it marks a milestone of sorts as the bands continues to explore new ground, and I think this was a big step towards finding it.” We’re with you man. We love big steps. –Maya Eslami

Monograms will celebrate the release with a show at Brooklyn’s Elsewhere on December 4th — more info here.
