Lunch Ladies are a new four-piece from New Jersey slinging dream-pop melodies that’ll make your feet tap. Fronted by vocalist/bassist Cynthia Rittenbach, with Matt Whitley and Matt Ramiz on guitars and double duty vox, and Peter Gargano on drums, their blend of hazy, jangle-pop rhythms and melodies reflect a wistfulness and longing that naturally comes with growing up on the east coast. Check out their new video for “Pick Yourself Up,” off their debut album Down on Sunset Strip, out now via Good Eye Records. “The video is very much about growing up and apart,” says director Ed Hellman. “The first part of the video focuses on the band jamming while constantly on the move. There is a sense of excitement and motion. Everything seems to be moving very quickly until night comes. Before they know it, everyone is walking home with only the music to tie them together. It’s funny how quickly things can shift from excitement to sadness, the present to just memory. Time is a bitch and growing up sucks.” You can say that again. –Maya Eslami
