Tracy Bryant is a man of constant ambition. After debuting his incredible solo album Subterranean last year – which landed songs on Volcom’s “Psychic Migrations” and Transworld Skateboarding’s “Substance” – the former frontman of now defunct Corners headed back to Berlin to record his sophomore album, A Place For Nothing And Everything In Its Place. And today, we’re happy to premiere the video for lead single, “Forever Certain,” a charming modern interpretation of physical comedy matched with a killer track.
“Tracy and Kim came to me with the idea to do a Buster Keaton-inspired video,” says director Johnny Maroney. “I’ve always loved the dream sequence in Sherlock Jr. where he walks into the cinema screen and I was also drawn to the lyrics in the song ‘Forever certain of the endless curtain.’ I kept thinking, what’s behind the curtain? So tried to do an imagining of that. Getting a glimpse beneath the veil, if you will. Like if you had been dreaming your whole life and just woke up for the first time.”
A Place For Nothing And Everything In Its Place drops October 20th on Burger Records. Originally conceived as an introspective acoustic album, Bryant reimagined the songs into fully arranged tracks, creating an incredibly personal testament of intimacy and grit. And to top it all off, Bryant’s new all-star band lineup now features drummer Nick Murray (Oh Sees, White Fence), bassist Brian Allen (Burnt Ones), and guitarist Miles Luttrel (Useless Eaters).
