LA-based artist Orchin, the project of frontman, songwriter, and producer Jeremy McLennan, blends elements of somber shoegaze and euphoric bedroom pop so smoothly, you’ll think you’ve slipped into a 90’s era duvet cover. Pulling influence and inspiration from “the moods of dystopian fiction, Nintendo games, and anything sci-fi,” McLennan’s approach to his soundscape taps the more minimal, raw aesthetic of dream-pop, citing Cocteau Twins and Arthur Russell as some of his favorite artists. Orchin’s new video for single “I Think I”, premiering today on What Youth, wraps all that nostalgia into a melting pot of imagery. So press play, and get lost in Orchin’s trip. –Maya Eslami
