Listen to Stef Chura Poppy, grungy, and angsty in all the right ways

Stef Chura may not sound familiar to you, but her experience floating through the depths of the Detroit DIY underground scene has definitely paid off. Her debut album, Messes, drops January 27th on indie label Urinal Cake Records, and it’s filled with poppy, grungy, angsty ballads about real ass shit. Referring to her own music as “emotional collage,” Chura’s vibe is sometimes riot grrrl-y, sometimes folky, but always unapologetic. Just how we like it. —Maya Eslami
