Meatbodies Announce New Album And share killer track, “Creature Feature”

Meatbodies, the self-proclaimed weirdo band of Chad Ubovich, Patrick Nolan, and Kevin Boog, are finally releasing the follow-up to their incredible lobe-crushing 2014 debut. Titled Alice, the 11-track “heavy-pop concept album” drops February 10th of next year on In The Red, and today, they’re sharing the first single from it, “Creature Feature”.

Oozing with liquifying electric guitar licks and splatters, a warbling Rhodes piano, and a 12-string acoustic guitar, “Creature Feature” exemplifies Ubovich’s ability to incorporate years of collaboration with Ty Segall and Mikal Cronin into his own blend of brain melting rock ‘n’ roll. I can’t wait for this album to come out, and neither should you.

As the press release exclaims, “Alice is a self critical epic. As somber as the fog, intoxicating as jasmine. A near fable of fear, sexuality, war, religion, technology, peace, philosophy, hedonism, sociology, evolution, and ecclesiasticism. Like a whisper on a vinyl record from 1952. Alice is open with dilated pupils. Flushed with passion, under soft lit words. Alice is an idea, a feeling, covered in pink lace. Alice is a message, a hidden commentary of modern day, bathed in fantasy, abounding in ecstasy, feeling colors. Alice makes you bleed and Alice licks the tongues, Alice is the key to make the mad-boys run.” Yes please. –Maya Eslami
