Tim Presley, master indie innovator behind the influential band White Fence, unleashed his first ever solo effort back in September on Drag City. Titled The WiNK, it was a fresh step away from his predominately “rock” direction with White Fence, and more in line with his collaborative efforts with constant muse Cate Le Bon as DRINKS. The poppy, bouncy urgency of Presley’s creativity on his new solo record is wonderful. And his new video for “Clue,” directed by Matt Grote, is only more indicative of a musician on the verge of yet another reinvention.
