WY Premiere: Listen to Lovely Bad Things And stream their new single “Cartoon Food”

Lovely Bad Things, the La Mirada band of multi-instrumentalist surf punk misfits, have a new song out today, “Cartoon Food”, off their forthcoming album Teenage Grownups. Oh how we all identify with deliberately stunted maturation. The track, with its heavy, steady surge of alt rock angst, has a nice Modest Mouse vibe, if you throw in some grit and grime. Listen up.

Inspired by bands like Dinosaur Jr. and Pavement, Lovely Bad Things met in high school and officially formed in 2009. The band consists of brothers Camron and Brayden Ward, Tim Hatch, and Lauren Curtis, who all play their instruments interchangeably and share singing duties. Produced by Crystal Antlers’ Johnny Bell, Teenage Grownups officially drops next year on Burger Records. But catch these lovelies on tour as they etch through the West Coast. –Maya Eslami
