Brooklyn-based punk band Honduras are my new favorite flavor. And I’m not talking about some brief encounter with a salty caramel that’s gone before your mouth knows what’s what. I saw these goons play in the wonderfully grimy Shea Stadium in Brooklyn last weekend, and I still have their taste stuck between my teeth.

Honduras (Pat Phillips, Tyson Moore, Paul Lizarraga, and Josh Wehle) debuted just last year with their infectious LP Rituals, on Black Bell Records, and followed up with a four-track EP Gathering Rust this past March. And although they’re quasi newbs (although opening up for Blur last year basically negates that), these dudes have enough momentum and raw power to keep their flavor going. –Maya Eslami
