Listen to Communist Daughter And watch their new video, “Roll A Stone”

Saint Paul indie band Communist Daughter knows what the last fleeting warmth of a brief Minnesota summer can bring out of a man. “Everyone makes the most of it,” lead singer and songwriter Johnny Solomon told me. “Everyone is out in the sun as much as we can before the cold comes rolling back in and we’re covered in snow again.” So it’s only fitting that their new video for the single “Roll A Stone” features activities best done under the sun: riding motorcycles, eating ice cream, and cruising the open, endless road. Check it out.

Communist Daughter are releasing their sophomore LP The Cracks That Built The Wall on October 21st. Think Brian Wilson fronting early Fleetwood Mac mixed with a pinch of Nirvana. Post-folk grunge at its finest. –Maya Eslami
