Get ready to trip out. Silent Pictures, the psych rock band we’ve been vibing on lately, has a new video out for “Time Has Broken” and we’re premiering it right here on WY to give your Monday blues a little break. Directed by Alexander Mann with cinematography by Leslie Satterfield, the violet-hued, kaleidoscoped double-vision video is filled with “cultish symbolism and connections to global secret societies”, and works perfectly with the killer track.
“The video was filmed at a Rosicrucian Temple built at the turn the century completed around the 1920s,” says Mann. “I liked the idea of filming in a state of non time, where everything is happening at once as well as in slow motion. The idea was to create an effect of time becoming meaningless hence the song title. A transcendence into humanities alien origins as if we could have performed in some secret ceremony thousands of years ago or today. We hope you enjoy this California trip down the Nile.”
“Tim Has Broken” is the latest single off Silent Pictures’ second full length, Let It Begin. The band will be performing at this year’s Desert Stars Festival in Joshua Tree at the end of September. Don’t miss out. –Maya Eslami
