Listen to The Paranoyds And see them live tomorrow at the Echoplex

The Paranoyds are my new favorite band. And I know I say that often, but this time it’s for real. Led by Lexi Funston and Staz Lindes, who both slay as guitarist and bassist interchangeably, Laila Hashemi on keys, and David Ruiz on drums, the Paranoyds came highly recommended by Crap Eyewear’s Tony Accosta, who told me, “they’re brand new and going to blow up very soon.” That was back in April, before they opened for Corners and blew my mind. Since then, they’ve recorded their first EP, After You, on Hard Feelings Records, made a music video for their single “Bad Idea,” and impressively pulled off a tour with Brooklyn space rockers DIIV. With a slew of local shows coming up and the unstoppable momentum they’re pulling, that blow up Tony predicted is inevitable.

Listen to their EP After You, and don’t miss them live at the Echoplex tomorrow night. Although these babes don’t have a ton of music out yet, their stage presence is a sight to behold. –Maya Eslami
