Mild High Club Announce New Album And release new single “Homage”

Mild High Club announce new album and release their new single "Homage".

Mild High Club have been on our radar lately, and for good reason. The smooth listening, psych entwined, keyboard loving LA locals announced yesterday the release of their second album, Skiptracing, out August 26th on Stones Throw Records. And along with the release, as bands do, they leaked their first single, “Homage.”

Skiptracing marks a new direction for Mild High Club as they explore thematic expression and more complex musical arrangements, while retaining their not-so-subtle Mac DeMarco tendencies. The album’s story arc, as explained by band founder Alexander Brettin, is that of a “private investigator attempting to trace the steps of the sound and the spirit of American music.” Imagine “AM radio hits blasting in from a parallel universe” and “the sound of early 70s LA in a smog of sativa.” Vagueness aside, Mild High Club’s penchant for woozy cruising tunes will be perfect for the end of summer, if summer ever ends. –Maya Eslami
