The incredibly influential Dinosaur Jr. have released a new video today, for the single “Tiny” off their upcoming album Give A Glimpse Of What Yer Not, dropping August 5th on indie label Jagjaguwar.
Directed by filmmaker Laurie Collyer (Sherrybaby, Sunlight Jr.), the video for “Tiny” stars Mascis’ skateboarding bulldog Beefy, who seems pretty content on a board, even when he doesn’t get the trick. “Aside from music,” she said in the release, “J Mascis has other passions. Bulldogs and skateboarding among them. When a friend of mine told me there was such a thing as skateboarding bulldogs, I took it from there and came up with the idea for Tiny.”
This is Dinosaur Jr.’s eleventh studio album, featuring all original members (J. Mascis, bassist Lou Barlow and drummer Murph) – the trio formed in 1984, a year probably none of you were even born. Since then, they’ve traversed through some lineup changes before finally reforming in 2005, and have somehow remained perpetually at their peak as a band. –Maya Eslami
