Rock ‘n’ roll will always soothe my soul, but sometimes a woozy, wistful dose of blues-infused pop does the body good. Slow Club, the brit two-piece consisting of multi-instrumentalists Charles Watson and Rebecca Taylor, have been all over the place in genres since their 2006 debut. Dipping in and out of indie folk, soul and “wonky-pop”, it’s too soon to tell what their new sound will reveal. But if it’s anything like the single “Ancient Rolling Sea” from their forthcoming LP, available from Moshi Moshi Records, I’m game. —Maya Eslami
