Back in May, when Thee Oh Sees released Mutilator Defeated At Last, they left a pretty special track on the cutting room floor, because sometimes things happen when you’re down to the wire and only so many songs can make it on a final long play album. Lucky for us, the song wasn’t scrapped entirely.

“Fortress,” the seemingly lost track, was premiered this week, just in time for some holiday cheer. And the best part about the nearly five minute single? The drums. Racing along at lightning speed, Nick Murray (former Oh Sees member and current consistent drummer for White Fence and percussionist for the Growlers) nails this track so hard, it’ll make you want to listen to “Fortress” over and over, just to hear him whale.
