We’ve got great news: Volcom is releasing a new film into their incredible and growing pantheon of iconic vids. It comes out next month and it’s called Psychic Migrations. And we could not be more excited.

Today marks the beginning of our countdown to the highly anticipated film directed by RT, the man who brought you Creepy Fingers, BS! and a variety of other favorites from the Volcom library. But to begin, we must know where we’ve been with Volcom to fully appreciated the scale of this. To do this, we’ve compiled the What Youth List of the Top 10 Volcom films of all time below.

And while this is nowhere near all of them, we had to chime in with a list that rounds out the variety and the timelessness of what Veeco Productions is all about. 10. Alive We Ride, 1993:

The film that kick started the whole shit show of crazy that is Volcom.

Fun, funny and fucking underrated. This movie came out on the border of the Internet domination we see today, but it’s a hilarious parody of our surf life, with some of the best surfing of the time. Mitch Coleborn and Dusty Payne dominate.

8. Freedom Wig, 1997: 

Freedom Wig was Volcom’s first skate film and was shot entirely on film.

6. Computer Body, 2000: 

“The true character of life is measured by mess and noise.” That is all ye know and all ye need to know. Track this thing down, underground classic made for the big stage.

3. The Garden, 1994:

Shot entirely on Super 8 film, with a groundbreaking soundtrack, this film put Volcom snowboarding on the map.

1. Magnaplasm, 1998:

This film is in a class of it’s own really. The eggs. The toast. The surreal breakfast with Bruce Irons. The music. Ween. Bruce. The raw, candid nature of it all, packaged somehow within a surrealist Goya painting. It was ahead of it’s time, and made you feel funny, but it’s a testament to Volcom’s films. As a grom they challenge your perception and you’re not sure why, but you keep watching and they end up living with you forever. Magnaplasm was the film that absolutely changed everything. For Volcom. And for surfers everywhere.
