Lizards of Summer Episode 006

Video: Blake Myers

Each month, when the dust settles and Blake Myers sends us the Lizards of Summer edit — his moment to freestyle with the dregs of the hard drive and utilize all the weird shit that rarely would see the light of day — what we see is often a more authentic picture of what is happening between takes at What Youth…as scary as that may sound (and look). It’s loud, the sound quality isn’t very crisp, we tend to roam with the outcasts in your local town, way past bedtime — but fucking hell do we bang our heads to it. You’ll notice that between the surfing and skating there is a lot of living in cars and on planes and in small town Karaoke bars with the local college football drunks — places where there is no other option but to embrace it and explore and participate. And so we do. All over this crazy ass world.

This month’s lizards include Craig Anderson, Dillon Perillo, Dylan Rieder, Thom Pringle, Dion Agius, Wade Goodall, Andrew Doheny, Ryan Callinan, Jack Freestone, Creed McTaggart, Mitch Coleborn and of course: Noa Deane. We hope you enjoy whatever the fuck this may be. Every month.

And we’re back. For season two of whatever the hell sort of video concoction Blake Myers can whip up for Lizards of Summer. You see, throughout the video process, there’s a lot of oddness that happens when the camera stays on too long. And this is that. Back for season two. God we’re cooked.
