It’s pretty easy to explain why we’ve been gravitating towards the skate community so much lately: they just seem to give less fucks. That and they’ve all been more receptive, educated and stoked to talk about what’s happening in the surf world than we anticipated. Even Ben Nordberg, who recently made the move to Hollywood from Bath in England, was psyched to show us his new Merrick and talk surfing during our visit. Not to mention the fact that his sometimes-roommate Curren Caples is the modern Deion Sanders of surfing and skating.
Anyway, we called Ben and asked for a glimpse at what his interpretation of domesticity looks like living as a professional skateboarder in the shadow of both The Roosevelt Hotel and Hollywood High in this episode of Fairly Normal.
