Getting inside the mind of an artist is really hard to do. While brilliant, they usually can’t articulate the trippy colors and images that pass through their minds. Such has been the case of Volcom’s brilliant filmmaker Ryan Thomas (RT). He’s been involved in some of our favorite Volcom surf films of the past decade and turned the surf film into his own artistic parody and amp reel. We recently went to his house, raided his edit bay and archive, as well as his inspirational shelves and got a good glimpse of what we may be in for with Volcom’s highly anticipated film Psychic Migrations, which will world premiere in September.
We also chat to Volcom’s longtime photographer Tom Carey and got some insider info from Mitch after hours at a bar in New York. We’re getting close enough now that we can all be excited. Volcom’s new film is very close.
Hit play and begin your “psychedelic trip through the textures of nature.”
