In this episode of 4 Cities, we roamed the streets of old San Juan with our favorite Puerto Rican, Mauro Diaz. Mauro spoke with us about Puerto Rico’s local culture, dreaming in Spanish, the effects of Hurricane Maria, and the conflicts with President Trump. Rolling out the red carpet for us, we visited a local cock-fight, his favorite watering hole, bowled a few games and even snuck in a few waves. The humble Puerto Rican is not one to talk too much about himself but once he opened up we learned about his love for art, Puerto Rico and its people. Rolling deep with the Metal Neck crew, Mauro has been terrorizing the lineups around Indo, France and Mexico. Since then his surfing has matured into that of a polished professional. We consider ourselves lucky to see it all come together.
