It’s crazy how a single roll of film can mean so much. We recently came across this one that Kai shot during a spontaneous trip to SF with Dane Reynolds. Dane was surfing in the Rip Curl Search in SF and we had just quit our jobs and were trying to make What Youth a thing. So we went to SF. Sounded like a good time.

Dane let us tag along and camp with him. And then it happened to be Halloween, which made this roll really come to life. So, enjoy this, what we’d probably call the first images shot for What Youth by Kai, documenting our first trip.

Dane’s costume was Jason Mraz. Obviously.
