Friday night soul singer Durand Jones played a private show at a house in Long Beach. After seeing them perform in front of 50 people, packed into a room, it’s obvious this band will never play to that small of an audience again. The band all met at Indiana University and are now hitting the road for their first tour. They have another show on Oct. 1 at Music Tastes Good in Long Beach and the line up for that one is fitting for their sound, including the likes of Charles Bradley, Ween and Ride.

Definitely add this one to your summer playlist. And look for them to be playing around Brooklyn soon, sounds like a couple members of the band are graduating college and moving out there to join the rest of the band. Soul for summer.
