Jesus and Mary Chain release new song The first in 18 years, and it’s really good

Christmas came early this year and Santa left a beautiful brand new Jesus and Mary Chain song. It’s called “Amputation” and is the first taste from their new record “Damage and Joy” out March 24.

This is the first song they’ve put out in 18 years, and they’ve managed as you’ll see to hold onto their signature sound. This song fills the void for anyone who listens to JAMC on repeat and wish bands today could come close to being as prolific as they are when entering the musings of the Dark Wave realm.

While the guitars drown in reverb in classic JAMC fashion, Jim Reid’s pop vocals resound over with poetic lyricism. Take a hard listen, then listen again as you let the nostalgia-infused tune consume you entirely while you daydream into the abyss. —Asal Shahindoust
