WY Guide: An art-filled weekend in LA It’s a bad time to be lazy

Are you in Los Angeles this weekend? Well, if so, it’s supposed to rain. And be hot. All at the same time. And since that makes for awkward beach days, we’re going to direct your attention to some amazing art openings and events this weekend. We put together this list of events hosted by friends and artists who get us psyched — and hopefully, most importantly, inspire you to go out and create yourself. From brand new exhibitions to special DJ sets, this weekend is one you definitely don’t want to spend being lazy. And there’s Hurricane swell slipping down the coast as well, so no couch melting allowed.

Deeds, Not Words 3

On Friday, July 17th (thats’ today!) stop by Slow Culture in Highland Park for the opening reception of their newest show: “Deeds, Not Words“. Their group photography exhibition features such names as Jerry Hsu, Riley Blakeway and Nate Walton with the premise of “doing shit, not taking it.” The reception is from 7-10 PM and the show goes until the 28th.
