Sign Painter Steve Powers Graphic and Colorful and We Want More

Steve Powers is a sign painting legend. And as fans of typography, he’s been a hero of ours since before he ditched his graffiti name ESPO. Vice did a great piece on him (above) just after he finished painting “Love Letter to Brooklyn” at the old Macy’s parking garage in Brooklyn, NY. The reason we’re sharing this with you now is the subtle shift in his new work. New color pallets, new graphic imagery and a whole new vibe that we just can’t get enough of.

He’s constantly creating and if you want to watch as he marks up walls, check out his instagram and the internets for a view into the process. —Scott Chenoweth
