The best part of Saturday was drinking beers at Barney’s Beanery in Hollywood, but the second best part was going to The Getty Center, where they’re showcasing the work of Josef Koudelka from November 11th to March 22, 2015.
The Czechoslovakian photographer got noticed in 1968 when he photographed the Soviet invasion of Prague. He then joined Magnum Photos in 1970. In 1975 he brought out his first book called Gypsies.
Since 1986, he has worked with a panoramic camera and issued a compilation of these photographs in his book Chaos. Koudelka has had more than a dozen books of his work published, including his most recent from 2008 called Invasion Prague 68.
