Mitch Coleborn, 1996
Today’s playlist is themed around the transition from grunge into punk and features a very influential Mitch Coleborn, who’s early days centered — as many of ours did — around both. Here he explains his theming of this little trip down memory lane:
Mitch Coleborn: “So I went to my first live festival when I was 8 with my older sister and got to see Silverchair in 1995. At the time, all I wanted for my 9th birthday was a mohawk and a pair of Doc Martens. And then obviously the back half of this playlist I’ve put together was influenced by Taylor Steele’s movies — which we’d all dance around in our bedrooms to this shit all day. The first CD I ever got was Frogstomp by Silverchair and sorry it wasn’t Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds. Heres a photo of me in 1996 (sweet birthday present).”
