“I was nervous for sure — but more nervous-excited just to skate the spot.”
Dolan Stearns recently stomped this tre flip at the Lake Henshaw dam. It’s an ad in Thrasher. It’s a famous spot (Geoff Rowley backside 3’s into it in Extremely Sorry), and you’re definitely not supposed to be there — let alone skate it. It’s a lonely and pretty fucking gnarly place. But Dolan is a quiet guy, who does really gnarly shit.
Tomorrow Dolan will star in a new Fairly Normal. Dolan is a published, talented artist and tattooer — using the organic stick and poke method for tattoos — as well as one of the most creative skaters we’ve met. Very raw but with a very polished style. A skater’s skater.
Check back tomorrow to see what we mean — including the photo above in motion.

Craig Anderson between the bars Collected Thoughts 002
Photo by Kai Neville Kai took this photo of Craig a little before 1 a.m. in Brooklyn, New York. John John in Barbados Collected Thoughts 001
This is John John Florence by the ghost of an Olympic pool at an abandoned resort in the parish of St. Lucy near the northern tip of Barbados, and what a useless cavity in the ground has he got here. The walls are too vertical to skate, there’s no water to ease the heat, there’s…
