What is your full name?

Alexandra Yvette Ginnold.

Did you grow up in Venice? What was your favorite part of that upbringing?

I did grow up in Venice! Venice is a very funky place so growing up I’d meet all sorts of eclectic people. Hopefully they’ve rubbed off on me a bit. And of course, the Pacific Ocean has been my backyard since I was born… so that’s been pretty great.

Word on the street is you’re a dancer, is that your main passion?

It’s funny actually because I would consider myself a dancer but I’m not classically trained. I just love movement and expressing myself with my body. It’s one of my many passions but I’ve been dancing more and more. My favorite time to dance is during a photo shoot!

When are you the most satisfied in life?

When I set a goal, work towards it and complete it.

What was the last thing you failed at?

Shooting film! I bought a Diana F plus camera and when I got my film developed only two out of 12 photos on the roll came out. I may have left the lenses cap on… embarrassing!

Personal style has carved out a large part of your life, any interest in becoming a stylist someday?

There are so many things I want to do in this life and styling is definitely one of them. I love how clothes can transform someone’s image and influence how they are perceived and how they feel about themselves.

What about the future do you think will be better than the present?

I can’t think of much that will be better with global warming, political tension and increasing technology that takes away from genuine human interaction. I wish we could all go back to the Elizabethan age! (:

Who or what influences your everyday life?

Sustainability influences my every day life from what I eat, to the clothes I wear and products I support.

What fuels your creativity?

1960’s fashion, Gustav Klimt, Fashion videos, traveling and public transportation.

Have you broken someone’s heart?

Never!

What lie do you repeatedly tell yourself?

That I will organize my closet!

We hear you travel a lot, what has been your favorite destination thus far? And where to next?

My favorite destination so far has been Morocco. The vibrant colors of that country are in my memory forever. I want to go back as soon as I can. This January, I am going to Amsterdam, Berlin and London for a few weeks! I’m very excited.
