I’d say that’s all we can do. Attempt to prepare you. Although there’s not really any way to do that. But this is your warning shot for our new monthly series of celluloid called Panther Vision presented by Volcom. The series was created exclusively for What Youth by Jamie Heinrich — who’s a creative freaking genius and has produced and directed several independent feature films, short films, long films, commercials, surf films, snow films and rad shit that fits into no category whatsoever — kind of like Panther Vision — oh, and we can’t forget he made one of our all-time favorite underground films starring Ozzie Wright called Knife . And now it’s our turn to host his genius for the year. Jamie’s created something entirely original and entirely off the deep end (exactly where we like it), but thrash and real at the same time. But no matter what we say here, we’re certain this series is going to get you fucking amped.

Episode 1 is coming soon and stars Ozzie Wright and the Goons of Doom blasting their way through California in search of Pierce Brosnan’s house…or something like that. But I think they’re hungover the whole time, Ozzie kinda, sorta gets arrested and the Goons careen through California playing every gig and note as if they’ll never be let on a rock stage again.

Stay very tuned in right here for the world premiere. It’s gonna be the most fun we’ll have together…maybe ever.

Dear Youth A Treatise on Art and Coffee

Coffee is a drug. That’s masked by ubiquity and social acceptance but it’s just hot speed. Black hot wonderful speed. That thought lingered last Saturday morning as a nice young man in a waxed-cotton apron and mustache — and not a November mustache, but a real annual subscription to the thing — fixed my Guatemalan…
