We saw so much of Kolohe this summer. But not in the water obviously, because he was injured, so for once in a life that revolves around surfing we had to do other stuff together.
It was unusual to see him that way, fighting demons, dabbling in women and some innocent sins. We’ve known Kolohe since he was 12 and it’s clear he’s becoming a man now. A man who picks up the tab when necessary and faces life head-on and has passions and intelligence and grace beyond his years.
He’s also still a fucking brat from San Clemente who’s been sponsored since elementary school, but that’s OK. We like who he’s becoming.
