Kent Andreasen is a photographer from South Africa who was spending some time around Southern California this summer. We got to chatting late one night over a few beers and he got onto a crazy story about shooting photos of Isaac Brock from Modest Mouse in South Africa. —Scott
“We were hanging at a festival back home in South Africa and Isaac strolls up to us while we were having beers. We get to chatting and he mentions that he was collecting dreads. My buddy James has dreads and is standing there and volunteers to give him one. Isaac was talking about making some sort of cloak for a music video. So Modest Mouse ends up playing the festival and then James and I went backstage to get his gear and there is Isaac and the band. James was keen to make it happen so he chatted with them and suddenly its all going down: Isaac pulls out this mask and they start chanting along with each other. The dread is eventually cut and James signs a piece of paper with his name and a whole bunch of details.” —Kent Andreasen
