Yes, he had some serious ongoing health issues but it still cuts deep when it’s someone we knew, had met, surfed with, etc.

Very simply, Kalani was a unique talent who blurred the skate/surf morass as very few have done before him.

That said, and besides the obvious athletic talent, Kalani was, in our few brief encounters, a very special person. Acknowledging that our time with Kalani was somewhat limited, we would never want to overhype our connection for any reason other than to offer absolute respect and heartfelt condolences to those who were close to the man.

RIP Kalani. You’ll be missed.
