A few weeks back we started getting DMs and clips from a young, blond charger that reminded us a lot of another young man who also hails from the North Shore and shares a striking resemblance from when he was a bit younger.

So without further adieu, we’d like to introduce Tama Hanneman.

We’d never want to put too much hype on anyone but we do feel Tama is off to a roaring start should he want to pursue life as a surfer, whatever that means.

We sent over a few questions and instead of a few quick emailed answers, we were rather impressed when a quality vid showed up in our inbox!

At just 12 years old, Tama certainly has some filling out to do physically and, of course, his techniques and abilities will only improve over time. But he’s getting top-quality sleds from Jon Pyzel so the sky’s the limit for this kid.

We look forward to watching the next few years.
