Chippa Wilson was a late bloomer. A lot of people don’t know that. He was working construction until he was 21, unsponsored and just surfing when he could. He then put out an edit with some friends and what he did in that part took him from the job site to the big time. He was so creative, so radical and so full of flair — and he backed it up with a humble, mellow, likable demeanor on land. He wasn’t a prima donna, he could hardly believe he was talented enough to get paid to surf, and since then he’s put together some of the best parts in the game and blown our minds regularly. He’s come a long way in the last few years, we love him and this piece takes you through the world he’s built for himself. A nice bump up from just building houses for other people.
