This surf shop is unusual because it’s not a T-shirt store posing as a surf shop, as most are, but rather it’s an adolescent clubhouse dive bar posing as a surf shop, and it does a good imitation until about six o’clock when the cans come out. Then it stops posing as anything and it’s just a loose local hangout with surf gear on the floor, for sale.

The Frog House is in Newport Beach, California and it’s been there 50 years, the owner T.K. almost as long. We stopped in around closing time one day with Ford and Andrew, and T.K. took the chance to formally welcome Andrew to the team.
