Langley Fox began her artistic career sometime around kindergarten — by drawing star people, an obviously more complex version of the stick people you and I probably drew. But it’s those star people that have evolved into photorealistic drawings that have been commissioned by everyone from Marc Jacobs to Maroon 5.
Langley is from Idaho. And she comes from a pretty damn good bloodline (Her real last name is Hemingway — yep, that Hemingway). She also runs around with Austyn Gillette, has skin in the fashion game, a unique and endearing sense of style, and has worked as a model and artist for some of the world’s elite brands. But that’s not what excites her. She wants more.
“I’ve taken a break from doing commissioned work,” she told us. “I was getting tired of everybody else’s ideas. I just want to do my own weird things right now. I wanna kill more people with arrows, splatter blood out, dread their hair — stop making nice things.”
We’re very much into that. Get a closer look at her work above and be sure to read our full interview with Langley in What Youth Issue 12, on sale now.
