La Femme really love to party — or as they like to say: “make party.” So it’s only natural that they create party music and perform long sets which you wouldn’t even notice because you’re too busy dancing the whole time.
They hail from Paris, France and they’ll kiss your cheek twice before putting you in a daze. They speak English well but they rock ‘n’ roll better.
Their shows have the power to make you feel like you’re at a Freak Show Circus party and will lull you into a strange psychedelic trance until you notice they’re right there dancing and partying with you.
During their recent stint in the USA, they played at Soda Bar in San Diego and before they played we sat down with the two founders of the band, keyboard player Marlon Magnée and guitarist Sacha Got. Marlon and Sacha grew up in the seaside town of Biarritz (really fun waves!) where they first met. One listen and you’ll notice that surf punk is a primary influence in their sound aside from tripped out psych rock.
The best part about La Femme is that their chilled out demeanor and effortless style makes you want to hang out with them everyday. See for yourself and then turn up some La Femme and make party. —Asal Shahindoust
